50 Shades of Pink...and Red!

Although I'm not a big advocate of the commercialism of Valentine's Day, I do relish any excuse to go all out on a theme-and this weekend it was red and pink. Over the years I seem to have gathered a collection of all things red/pink/spot/hearts related so what better day to use them to than serve up some breakfast? The problem in our house is that we all have a different 'favourite' breakfast- I'm generally trying to have the healthy option, hence the boiled eggs and toast; Robbie's favourite is a 'sausage and bacon soda' while  Lex opts for some pan au chocolate.
As you can tell, I'm a bit of an Emma Bridgewater fan, but most of these pieces I bought at great discounted rates in TK Maxx, including the duvet cover, cushions and bolsters.

I love an opportunity to buy presents for others and as we were going out with friends for dinner last night, what better excuse was there to buy a Valentine's inspired gift?  I found the perfect piece in the form of a heart-shaped  mini Le Crueset crock dish for my friend who loves to cook and bake-something which could be used all year round, not just one day of the year.

As I had been out at a children's birthday party all day, I arrived home with only 30 minutes to get ready so it was time to 'jump' into my M and S jumpsuit and quickly run my Babyliss Curl Secret over my very straight hair. This hair gadget has been a life-saver for when I fancy some curls but in a hurry. They are simple to use but ideally you should allow more than 10 minutes to do a full head of hear. Unfortunately I didn't have the luxury of time so it was literally curl and go for me!
Valentine's cards and presents and ready to hit the tiles!

Tired toes and bed-head meant it was flat boots and a hat as we headed out for breakfast this morning to Cafe Brazilia. Fed up with various shades of brown boots this season, I was delighted to find these navy Superdry chelsea boots in TK Maxx this week. The fact that the elasticated panels are pink-as well as pink accents through the perforated toes-made them all the more appealing, so much so that I had to buy them in brown too!

It's half term this week so I'm enjoying the thought of not having to rush up and out in the morning but instead planning lots of lovely things to do with my 2 favourite boys.
Have a lovely week.
Tx
